High King of Tara is a card game that recreates the struggle to become High King of Ireland in the period following the death of Brian Boru at the battle of Clontarf in 1014 AD. It may be played with two or more participants, each player representing a regional high king who must weld together a sufficient number of the lesser kingdoms (tuatha) to be acclaimed as High King of Ireland.
